We were lucky enough for Sophie to reach out to us and ask for us to do an article with her. As Sophie does a great deal of her photography in Felixstowe (from seascapes to event shoots) we decided that an interview would be pretty awesome!
Hi Sophie, tell us a bit about yourself?
Hey! I'm Sophie, a photographer and content creator based in Ipswich. I have recently finished college and I am starting University in September for photography.
Wow, well done! You take a lot of photos in Felixstowe. What’s the attraction for you?
I do love to go to Felixstowe regularly to take photos. My favourite places to go are the seafront, the gardens and Old Felixstowe. In the past year I have had the opportunity to shoot at Beach Street at the opening event and also the recent first birthday which made it into the press. Having some of my work featured in the press was one of my biggest goals.
How did you get into photography?
I got into photography by one of my amazing friends, Ola and she wanted some photos done. It all started from there. At first it was hard as I had a lot of people doubt me through bullying. But I was very much determined to achieve my goals. I have always had a very focused mindset and I know what I want to achieve. And since then my photography has grown in a way I never thought was possible.

I have a lot of favourite photographers that I love to take inspiration from for my own work. My favorite photographers currently are

Why are you so passionate about photography?
Because of the power it can have. You can use your creativity to tell a story or to show something visually. I feel that photographers really underestimate the platform we have to showcase our work to raise awareness or to simply show our creativity. I also love to inspire people too! I do believe that no opportunity is off limits. This year I was able to shoot at the Suffolk Show which was amazing.
Any other hobbies?
I do content creation along with photography which mixes the two together where I can show my work to a wider audience. But in general I love to travel around and see the UK along with watching sports like football and rugby.
Who inspires you?
My friends and family 100%. My amazing followers give me so much motivation too!
Who do you hope to inspire?
Really anyone who is looking to get into the creative industry and is driven like me! And of course anyone wanting to take photography as a new venture.
