Andrew Dockerill’s New Focus on Art Since Retiring

My painting was on hold earlier in the year after the passing of my dear mother in April. I have now retired from my IT career and this is giving me more time to focus on my art. I have now started painting again and picked up on my plan to paint views of Felixstowe and the surrounding villages. The drawings and paintings I’ve done so far can be seen in this article.

The next set of paintings will include more of the sea and beach, local buildings such as the pier and the Spa Pavilion.

What views would you like to see painted? I really would be interested to hear from you.

Moving forward I will be painting local churches in particular Trimley Church. This will be followed by countryside lanes and fields around Felixstowe. I will include a few details of the materials and working methods I use.

I've been fortunate to exhibit paintings at the following venues recently and look forward to exhibiting more works in the future: Orwell Art Club exhibition at Frame Workshop Ipswich, Hasketon Fete Exhibition and Southwold Art on the railings.

I am also considering producing greeting cards, or prints, of some of my local paintings.

Further examples of my work can be seen on Facebook, my website at
