I am Suzanne and I am 37 years old from Kirton. In my blended family, I have 6 children between myself and my partner Ashley. 

 

My day job is working for a local freight forwarding company, in customs entries. In my spare time I absolutely love to bake. Recently I have also taken up fudge making and I have made some delicious flavour combinations including mini egg, salted caramel pecan and maple syrup, and white chocolate and raspberry. I plan to make some more new flavours in the near future. Keep an eye out for some yummy Easter themed treats soon! 

 

I have always loved to bake, from a young age I was often found in my parents kitchen baking cupcakes and driving her bonkers with the mess that came with it! I recently started to bake again when COVID-19 put the nation into lockdown number 500, lol. I find baking relaxing and always look forward to seeing and tasting the end result. The 6 young mouths in our home are definitely the chief taste testers, their approval is very important indeed. I know my bakes are good when they ask for more. 

 

My favourite bake so far has to be the giant Jaffa Cake I made for one of our children’s 7th birthday. He is a massive Jaffa Cake fan. I made a vanilla sponge, topped with orange jelly and mixing in some marmalade to give it that extra orangey flavour. The cake was finished off covered in melted dark chocolate all over. The top was decorated using a spoon to replicate the pattern found on Jaffa Cakes. The cake was then put into the fridge overnight to let it set. Needless to say the next day we had one happy birthday boy. 

 

I'm currently baking most weeks, trying out new bakes and recipes. My recent ones include Lemon & Blueberry Blondies, Bakewell Blondies, Reeces Peanut Butter Brownies, and Jammie Dodger Blondie. 

My dream one day is to bake and sell my bakes to a wider audience and maybe even have my own local cake shop. 

 

My partner Ash, is also an avid foodie and is selling smoked BBQ boxes, and also some amazing home made wood-fired pizza's. 

 

We are one big foodie family.
