An Update from the New Mayor of Felixstowe

It is a great honour to have been elected Mayor at the Town Council meeting on 15 May 2024.  To be made Mayor of the town you have called home all of your adult life is very special and I am looking forward to an exciting year.

The theme for my year is "service". We have so many people and organisations in our town who serve others and it is what makes Felixstowe such a caring and fantastic community. Many of these people are volunteers making personal sacrifice to serve and help others. During my year I would like  to meet as many people and organisations who serve our town and thank you for what you do, so please do contact me to arrange a visit!

This brings me nicely on to my charities for the forthcoming year. I have chosen Breast Friends CIC and the Landguard Trust. Breast Friends support a community of breast cancer patients from diagnosis, during treatment, surgery and beyond. The Landguard Trust preserve the very special area of the Landguard Nature Reserve , the Fort and the Felixstowe Museum.  We will be have a number of fundraising events for the charities during the year, so please look out for more information on the exciting plans to come!

I am looking forward to a great year ahead celebrating Felixstowe, particularly during special year, as it is the 50th Anniversary year of our town twinning with Wesel.
