In twenty-two four, a grand tour did begin
Across the Britain, a land of old kin
Eighteen stages, a race of might and will
One hundred riders, with dreams to fulfil
The peloton raced through the streets of cites and towns
The crowds cheered loud, their spirits astound
The riders pedalled fast, their hearts ablaze
Their wheels spun round, like the turning of the days
Through the rolling hills of the Cotswolds they rode
The wind in their hair, the sun on their side
Their lungs burned bright, their muscles afire
Their determination, a burning desire
They raced onward, through the land of the free
Their bicycles, their wings, their destiny
Their hearts beating strong, their souls on fire
Their dreams within reach, their goals to aspire
The Tour of Britain, a test of strength and grace
A journey of a thousand miles, a single pace
The riders pushed on, with every ounce of might
Their will to win, a beacon in of will and might
