Felixstowe Library Comes up Trumps with FREE Bridge Courses for Beginners

Would you like to learn bridge, the world’s best partnership card game, for free? Well, now’s your chance.

Suffolk Libraries is teaming up with Suffolk Bridge to offer free courses for beginners in a number of their premises around the county, including at Felixstowe library. The lessons will start on 15th January.

No previous card playing experience is necessary and the course is open to all age groups. The lessons will be taken by Tony Shearman, an experienced local player, Tournament Director, and teacher.

Tony (a former County Pairs Champion, and National Pairs finalist), said: “Anyone who wants to start learning to play the world’s best card game now has a one-off chance to do so. Thanks to the Suffolk Libraries generously providing space in their premises, and a financial gift from a local bridge club, the beginners lessons will be free.”

“People need have no previous experience of the game. We can teach people aged 7 to 70 even if they have never picked up a pack of cards before.

“So many people have said to me they have always wanted to learn bridge - well, here is a golden opportunity.”
