The first-ever unique Suffolk photography project, EXPOSURE at Illuminate Studios, is set to launch in May with an open event and Zine unveiling, marking the opening of a new month-long exhibition.
EXPOSURE is the imagining of Illuminate founder and Master of Arts graduate, Mikaela Rackham, and sets out to celebrate and showcase the amazing work of photographic artists from across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and beyond. The project aims to bring artists together in a one-off, limited print edition Zine (a community-published, non-commercial creative print-work produced in small, limited batches) and exhibition at Illuminate Studios, Brightwell Barns; kick-starting on the 5th May between 6-8pm followed by the exhibition from 6th- 31st May.
The highly anticipated EXPOSURE exhibition and Zine have been curated by artist, from photography artists across the region who were invited to submit their works under four categories: Landscape/Place, People & Portrait, Natural World, Alternative & Experimental. Three artists from each category will then be selected, by a panel of four creative judges, to feature in the exhibition. Visit the website to find out about the Judges.
The open event will be a fantastic opportunity to see these works of art for the first time alongside the unveiling of the limited edition run of the first ever EXPOSURE Zine.
EXPOSURE is an important part of Mikaela’s passion and journey with Illuminate to become a central and diverse hub for Suffolk creatives. “I created Illuminate to both inspire and support creatives in all ways possible, whether that's learning a new skill in the darkroom, attending a workshop or hiring the creative spaces, art gallery or studio for their own creative outlet.”
EXPOSURE kick-starts with an open event, Zine unveiling and meet the artists on the 5th May between 6-8pm, at Illuminate Studios, Unit 20, Brightwell Barns, Ipswich, IP10 0BJ. Open to all guests and visitors interested in creative, arts and stunning photography.
