Children in Need - Press release on behalf of The Federation of Fairfield and Colneis

A Suffolk school has been “amazed” by the charitable giving by pupils to help improve the lives of other children.

The Federation of Fairfield Infant and Colneis Junior in Felixstowe usually raise around £400 each year for Children in Need.

This year the school set up a Just Giving site so parents could donate money to the charity event.

Given the economic circumstances posed by the coronavirus crisis the school set a target of raising £100.

But it has already raised more than £1,400.

“We’re amazed at the generosity of our families,” said headteacher Mark Girling.

“We appreciate our community coming together to support such a worthy charity at this particularly difficult time. It models a fantastic example to our children about how to be effective and positive citizens.”

The Children in Need charity helps children affected by a whole range of disadvantages such as poverty, disability, illness, distress or trauma,

It funds almost 4,000 charities and projects which support children and young people across Britain.
