Landguard Fort was delighted to host Felixstowe School’s Gala Concert again last summer. It is such a lovely event that sees students of all ages performing to an audience made up of their parents. We are honoured to make our iconic Fort available for this occasion. The Fort is not only a historic landmark, but a vital part of Felixstowe’s identity. Hosting events such as this allows us to celebrate that connection and showcase the Fort as a proud symbol of our community.
This event represents a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together while supporting two causes close to our hearts. Not only does it contribute to the ongoing preservation of Landguard Fort, but most importantly it helps provide new instruments for the students of Felixstowe School, nurturing the next generation of musicians. With great pride, Landguard Fort has pledged to donate the entirety of the ticket income directly to Felixstowe School. We believe this is a cause of real significance, and we are delighted to stand alongside the school in ensuring its young people have the resources they need to flourish. By opening our doors and dedicating our support, we hope to highlight the Fort’s role as a living part of Felixstowe’s identity—one that celebrates heritage while investing in the future. The Fort is looking forward to continuing this relationship and hosting this year's concert once again.
Quote from Elian Shipp General Manager - “It is amazing to see the excitement on the performers’ faces. I remember doing these concerts when I was at school and they still stick with me. For the Fort to be part of this memory for these students is such an honour. We are more than pleased to support Felixstowe School and look forward to working with them even more.”
